Continuity of Operations Plan

The COOP plan for Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) ensures that the college will continue to carry out its essential functions in the event of an emergency.  This plan ensures the safety of our employees and our students.  By planning we will be able to have in place protection for our essential equipment, records and other assets.  COOP will also reduce disruptions to our operations and minimize damage and losses.  In the event of an emergency operation COOP will enable us to achieve an orderly recovery.  It is essential to have relocation sites and other operational and managerial requirements in place before an emergency occurs.

The COOP is organized around SVCC’s current functional and organizational structure.  The Leadership Team includes members of the President’s Staff.  The support services personnel are member of the Coordination and Recovery Team and the other support teams are composed of employees from the appropriate areas.
